I’ve been with NNC since 2022, and in that time, I have mainly been responsible for developing and executing strategy on communications; government, public, and media relations; and engagement with Rightsholders and stakeholders across all projects. I also helped lead commercial negotiations on the Territory’s first energy purchase agreement for the wind and battery project happening in Sanikiluaq. I work closely with all Project Managers and NNC’s Director, to ensure a smooth, cross-company approach to external relationships.

As part of my job, I’ve been travelling to Nunavut regularly since 2022, and have visited 6 communities in the Qikiqtani Region. In 2024, I participated in the Arctic Remote Energy Networks Academy which brought me to rural Alaska; Inukjuak, Nunavik; and Nuuk, Greenland, where I learned from Northerners about the renewable energy systems they’ve chosen to rely on.

I have a degree in Earth Sciences from Dalhousie University, with a background in geotechnical and environmental assessment. I have certificates in teaching English as a second language, municipal asset management, and outdoor education. I have worked in the climate action space for the last 8 years, with experience in community-led adaptation planning for infrastructure and social systems, low-carbon resilience, and renewable energy. I have worked with children and adults, in traditional and nature-based learning environments, with a focus on intersectional and inclusive science communication.

I have learned so much from working in partnership with Inuit communities in Nunavut, and I am committed to supporting Inuit self-determination and leadership.
