Born on the land and raised in Aujuittuq Nunavut, Harry’s early years in Canada’s most northern civilian community helped develop a strong understanding of the importance of family, community and self-reliance. Harry is recognized as a prominent Inuit business leader advancing economic and career opportunities for Inuit and leading Qikiqtaaluk Corporation as the region’s economic driver.
As President & CEO of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation & Group of Companies, the largest Inuit-owned private employer, the Corporation has increased its service diversification through new subsidiaries, joint-ventures, and partnerships which has advanced QC as a prominent and reliable leader and partner in industrial, institutional and infrastructure development.
Harry was instrumental in establishing Nunavut Nukkiksautiit Corporation as Nunavut’s first 100% Inuit-owned renewable energy developer.
On a personal and corporate level, he is determined to make change for those he represents, Qikiqtani Inuit, and has a vision of what Inuit Organizations can be, with a growth strategy that maximizes local participation to have a lasting effect.
Harry has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career celebrating the advancements he has made for Nunavut, including the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award, being the First Indigenous Inuit to receive this award in its 20-year history.
As a leader, he is making a positive difference for Inuit, communities, and the Nunavut economy through his dedication and determination to create meaningful employment and business opportunities for Inuit.
